Our Services

Patient Wellness

Your pet's care is our top priority.  Annual wellness visits are vital to your pet's preventative health care.  A thorough physical exam is performed where the doctor can pick up on small changes pets cannot verbally communicate.  Routine laboratory screenings can diagnose infections before they become a problem.  For example, by checking a fecal sample for parasites or a small blood test to check for tick borne diseases, our doctor can detect early disease before clinical signs develop.  This is a critical window where pets are positive on diagnostic test but not yet showing clinical signs in which many conditions can be treated or managed with greater success.  Diagnosing conditions before overt clinical disease improves the longevity of your companion.  Annual exams over the life of your pet help them to live longer, healthier lives in turn giving you more time to make memories together.

Surgical Procedures

We hope that the only surgery we need to do on your pet is a spay or castration, but should an incident arise that your pet needs surgical care we are here for you.  From caesarian sections, entropion repair, mass removals, and more our doctor and staff are here to provide the best care possible locally.  If your pet needs a specialized surgery, we will assist you in finding the specialist necessary to see your furry companion is taken care of.

Dental Care

Overall health starts with good oral health.  Our doctor has completed advanced training in the field of dentistry so she and her team can address pediatric dentistry needs, routine cleanings to help remove plaque and tartar, as well as perform oral surgery if required.  Pediatric dentistry needs are often identified during patients routine visits.  Retained deciduous teeth is one example of where a pediatric patient may need early intervention to help prevent disruption to the patients permanent tooth formation or eruption.  Routine dental cleaning are recommended under general anesthesia to help prevent and address periodontal disease both above and below the gum line that at home brushing cannot remove alone.  Oral surgery is sometimes needed to remove masses or diseased teeth, such as a tooth root abscess.  KVH is here to help keep your pets oral health to the best it can be.
